The York Middle School HOSA chapter in York, SC recently participated in a field trip with twenty chapter members and three advisors. They began their day visiting White Oak Manor in York, a long-term care center. The students played Bingo with the residents and spent time visiting them.
The students and advisors then visited The Applied Technology Center in Rock Hill. They were met by the HOSA chapter members at The Applied Technology Center who demonstrated a number of the competitive events in which they participated at the State Leadership Conference. The York Middle School students had a chance to actually participate in a mock HOSA Bowl with the high school students.
Kyara Livingston, immediate past Post-Secondary Vice-President for South Carolina HOSA, provided a presentation for the students about her experiences in HOSA throughout the past few years. Kyara encouraged the students to focus on their middle school and high school classes. She advised them to maintain high grades and take advanced classes as they were available.
